The Community Wellness Program, provided by the St. Marys Friendship Centre, offers resources and services to help people cope with the challenges of living through the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
One of the best things you can do to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) is to stay home as much as possible. This means avoiding non-essential trips to places like the grocery store and pharmacy, and spending time away from family and friends.
We know this is hard, but the Community Wellness Program is here for you. Our services are designed to make staying at home safe, easy and social.
Hot and frozen meal delivery | ||
We can arrange daily or weekly delivery of hot or frozen meals through our Meals on Wheels program. Meals are delivered to your porch in a safe, socially-distanced manner by our trained volunteers. Payment for meal deliveries can be made by over the phone using a credit card or we can mail a monthly bill to your home. Subsidies are available for those in need. The menu for hot Meals on Wheels varies weekly and includes an entrée (meat, starch and vegetables), plus a soup and a dessert. A frozen meal menu can be found here. |

Delivery of groceries and other essentials |

We understand the wait for grocery and other deliveries can be longer than anticipated. Our volunteers can help you get your essentials quickly, then teach you how to order essentials over the phone or online. We can also place an order on your behalf. Essentials are delivered to your porch in a safe, socially-distanced manner by our trained volunteers. Payment for deliveries can be made by over the phone using a credit card or we can mail a monthly bill to your home. Subsidies are available for those in need. If you don’t have a credit card, we can cover the up front cost of your essentials and arrange a different form of payment that works for you. Want to try ordering your groceries online from the St. Marys Independent Grocer? Read our helpful step-by-step instructions. |
