A Library Board is the governing body responsible for the operation of a library as outlined under the Public Libraries Act, RSO 1990, c. P.44. Library boards serve 4 year terms and are responsible for providing comprehensive and efficient public library service that reflects a communities unique needs.
Responsibilities of the Library Board:
- to oversee library finances
- to establish policies and priorities for library operations and programming
- to set fees
- to hire a library CEO
