Volunteer

Volunteering for your library can be a fun and rewarding experience.

Volunteer activities fall into three areas:

  • Keeping an orderly and organized collection of library materials:  activites include shelving books and shelf reading.
  • Programming for all ages: activities include providing supervision for children's programmes, leading discussion at book clubs, and selecting and delivering books for homebound book deliveries.
  • Fundraising:  most fundraising activities are carried out by the Friends of the Library.

The library accepts volunteers 12 years and older.  Volunteers over the age of 18 are required to provide a police reference check.

Fill out an application today and return it to libraryinfo@stmaryspubliclibrary.ca or in person at the library.
