Town Services

The Town of St. Marys offers a full range of services to its residents, businesses and visitors. Council places a high priority on building a “complete and healthy community” and as a result provides a host of active and passive recreation opportunities. From swimming to skating, tennis to t-ball, hiking trails to picnics, St. Marys offers many activities to the young and the young at heart. We take a leading role in raising our children, keep our seniors active and safeguarding our community. As a separated Town, St. Marys’ complement of services is more complete than many municipalities in Ontario. Our team ensures that your garbage and recyclables are managed, basic services (water and waste water) are maintained and your public spaces kept clean.

The beautiful Thames River winds its way through 30 hectares of scenic trails, parkland and country roads, setting the stage for a truly memorable visit. Enjoy the small town experience of visiting our one-of-a kind cafés, antique shops and countryside inns. Explore the unique limestone architecture or refresh with a beverage at an old fashioned ice cream parlour. You can experience the flavour of the local heritage at the St. Marys Museum or Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, or take in one of the many festivals and events the town hosts each year.

Free guided walking trails are offered during the summer. Mid-November through December enjoy free horse-drawn wagon rides around Milt Dunnell Field to experience the magic of the winter holiday light display.

Town Hall

The historic Town Hall, built in 1891, is the heart of St. Marys’ municipal and administrative operations. This portion of the site offers resources related to St. Marys’ Mayor, Council and Sub Committees that help guide the Town’s operations. Information on the Clerks Office and Finance Department is also available as the lead for valuable information of municipal meeting agendas, minutes and reports, as well as, municipal Bylaws and budgets.

On behalf of all Residents, Staff and members of Council, I wish to extend to you a very warm welcome to the Town of St. Marys.

Nestled in a valley on the banks of the Thames River, we truly are one of the most picturesque towns in Canada.

We offer a diverse variety of activities and amenities for your enjoyment. Whether it is a leisurely walk along the river on one of our many walkways or an extended hike on one of the more than 10 kilometres of pristine trails winding through St. Marys, you will be amazed at the historical beauty of our Town. In the summer you may want to enjoy a cool swim in our world renowned Quarry. Visit the St. Marys Museum, our Carnegie Library or the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, and explore our unique cultural history. Bring your camera as you will want to take pictures of the many limestone buildings in St. Marys. You will see why we are called the “Stonetown”.

Stroll through our quaint downtown and shop at the many unique stores we have. Enjoy a delicious meal at one of our fine restaurants or dining establishments.
