St. Marys Fire Department transferring 911 dispatching to Owen Sound

The St. Marys Fire Department along with fire departments in North Perth, Perth East, and West Perth will be transferring their emergency dispatching services from the Stratford Fire Department to the Owen Sound Emergency Communications Centre beginning January 5, 2022.

This change will allow communications during an emergency to be more streamlined as well as more detailed and accurate reports of emergency calls to be documented and maintained.

St. Marys hosting Stonetown Triathlon July 6

The Stonetown Triathlon comes to St. Marys this Sunday, July 6, 2025!

During the competition young athletes aged 8-19 years will swim in the quarry, cycle our streets, and run along the Thames River.

To accommodate the cycling route, the following roads will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6:

• Thomas St. from Park St. to the Sewage Treatment Plant
• Park St. from Thomas St. to Water St. S
• Water St. S from Park St. to the entrance of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame

Traffic closures for 2025 Canada Day parade

Portions of James St. S, Queen St. E, Wellington St. S and Park St. will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, for the St. Marys Canada Day parade.

The parade will leave the Pyramid Recreation Centre at approximately 11:00 a.m. and proceed to Cadzow Park.

The following sections will be closed from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.:
