Easter Holiday Hours for Town facilities

Please note the following hours will be in effect for Town of St. Marys facilities for Good Friday (April 15, 2022) and Easter Monday (April 18, 2022).

Closed Friday, April 15 and Monday, April 18:
  • Administrative offices (Town Hall and Municipal Operations Centre)
  • Adult Learning
  • Before and After School Program
  • Child Care Centre
  • Fire Station
  • Landfill
  • Mobility Services Offices (Rides must be booked by 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 14)
  • Museum and Archives

Traffic flagging planned for intersection of Queen Street East and James Street South

Disruption

Traffic flagging will be in place at the intersection of Queen Street East and James Street South starting Monday, March 28 at 9:00 am. Flagging is being done to accommodate the replacement of guard rails on the nearby bridge. The work should be completed by Wednesday, March 30.  

Motorists should expect some delays as crews will be allowing traffic through on an alternating basis.

Town hosting Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste disposal events

First event to occur on Saturday, April 15, 2023

The Town of St. Marys is continuing with its Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste (MHSW) disposal days following the success of the program in 2021 and 2022. The Town will host three disposal days this year, with the first happening on April 15, followed by one on July 22 and another on October 21.

Fire Captain Ryan Taylor named Firefighter of the Month for March

The St. Marys Fire Department proudly announces Fire Captain Ryan Taylor as the March 2022 Firefighter of the Month.

Taylor joined the department in 1995 and has served as a firefighter for 26 years. Through hard work, dedication and upgrading his education, he was promoted to Captain on December 29, 2018.

Taylor was inspired to become a firefighter as a child because his best friend’s father was on the department.

Town wants to hear how local small businesses are “going green”

The Town of St. Marys is asking local small businesses to share their strategies for reducing waste as part of a new recognition program.

The Green Initiatives Awareness Program was developed by the Town’s Green Committee to highlight the community’s efforts to combat climate change.
