The St. Marys Fire Department has a brand new tool that could make the difference between life and death during an emergency. It’s all thanks to a $5,000 donation from Dowler Karn, which was presented to Fire Chief Richard “Andy” Anderson earlier this month.

Online and offline, many ways to celebrate our nation

Canada turns 153 this year, and despite social distancing, St. Marys is celebrating in grand style.

The fun has already begun, as entries have started to come in for the “Virtually Delicious” red-and-white baking content. The deadline is extended to end-of-day on Sunday, June 21 to allow all weekend kitchen warriors to submit their creations. Update on Child Care Centres in Stratford, St. Marys, and Perth County

On June 9, 2020, the Province of Ontario announced that as part of the next stage of the province’s reopening framework, child care centres and home care providers in Ontario would be allowed to re-open starting June 12, 2020. This plan will require all child care operators within the Service Manager Area to follow strict health protocols to ensure the safety of child care staff, parents, and children.

On June 8, 2020, the provincial government announced that many regions in Ontario, including Huron-Perth, can now move into Stage 2 of its COVID-19 recovery plan. This second stage expands the number and type of facilities that municipalities can re-open to the public.

Temporary water pressure reduction planned for properties north of Egan Avenue

Residents in the area north of Egan Avenue will experience reduced water pressure between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020. The reduction is related to work being done on the water distribution system in the area.
