St. Marys Train Station service desk to be temporarily closed

Disruption

The St. Marys Train Station service desk will be temporarily closed on Saturday, May 20 during its regular hours of 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. and 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. due to a staffing shortage. It will reopen for regular hours on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

VIA Rail service will continue to operate during this time and the Station Gallery will be open during the day from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Milt Dunnell Field Roadway to be temporarily closed for school event

The Milt Dunnell Field Roadway (1 Veterans' Circle) will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 for a school event.

Town of St. Marys making changes to Traffic and Parking By-law

The Town of St. Marys is aiming to improve road and trail safety with its new Traffic and Parking by-law. The by-law was approved by Town Council on May 9, 2023, and will take effect on August 1, 2023.

The new by-law will allow the use of off-road vehicles on local streets between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Those who choose to drive off-road vehicles on the street will be subject to regulations outlined in the Highway Traffic Act. St. Marys welcomes visitors with new directional signage

The Town of St. Marys is making it easier to find local amenities with the installation of 70 new directional signs. It’s all part of the municipality’s Signage and Wayfinding Strategy, a multi-year project led by its Tourism and Economic Development department.

Fire Department testing new siren on Friday, May 12, 2023

The St. Marys Fire Department has a new tool for raising the alarm when preparing to attend a call. A siren was installed on the property this week and will be tested this Friday, May 12, 2023.

Tests on the siren will happen from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Municipal and Fire Department staff will be positioned throughout St. Marys to ensure the alarm can be heard throughout town.

Once approved, the siren will be used to alert residents of fire calls that happen between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m....
