Third year for dazzling display off Grand Trunk Trestle

The end of 2022 is just around the corner, and residents of St. Marys – and beyond – can bid farewell in a spectacular way!

On Saturday, December 31, 2022, the Rotary Club of St. Marys is sponsoring fireworks shortly after 6:00 p.m. The show will originate from atop the Grand Trunk Trestle to light up the St. Marys skyline.

Service Ontario and Municipal Operation Centre to be temporarily closed

Please note the following temporary closures:

  • The Municipal Operations Centre – located at 408 James St. S – will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 15.
  • The St. Marys Service Ontario office – located at 194 Queen St. W - will be closed from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 16. Patrons can access a range of services online during the closure (www.serviceontario.ca). These services are easy to use and available 24/7.

Section of Queen Street West closed due to water main break

UPDATE

Queen St. W will remain closed until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15 as crews work to re-pave the the roadway. 

Queen St. W is closed from Salina St. N to William St. due to a water main break. A detour route has been put in place using Ontario St. N, Maiden Ln. and Ingersoll St.

Crews are currently on site repairing the issue. The road is expected to re-open at 6:00 p.m. today. 

Properties in the area may be experiencing temporary water outages. Water services will be restored...

There’s no shortage of holiday spirit in St. Marys this year!

New this month is the Holiday Light Tour, which launches on Friday, December 9. This year’s tour features over 15 beautifully decorated homes. Download and print the map at www.discoverstmarys.ca/happyholidays or access it via the free Driftscape app. Hard copies of the map are available at municipal facilities. The tour runs until January 1, 2023.
