St. Marys Museum to host installation by Métis artist Tracey-Mae Chambers

On Monday, August 22, the St. Marys Museum will host Métis artist Tracey-Mae Chambers as part of her #hopeandhealingcanada project. Members of the public are encouraged to come to the St. Marys Museum on the day of to see the artist at work during the installation.

Open air fire ban lifted in Perth County

Effective at midnight tonight, thanks to the recent rainfall, the open air fire ban will be lifted in the County of Perth, including the Town of St. Marys. Burn permits can now be issued and must abide by the respective municipality’s open air burn by-law.

With the monitoring of rainfall and vegetation conditions, Fire Chiefs are confident that residents can now safely burn. Please continue to practice safe burning by doing the following:

Firefighter Rick Martin named Firefighter of the Month for August

This August the St. Marys Fire Department is proud to announce Rick Martin as its “Firefighter of the Month.”

Martin joined the St. Marys Fire Department as a firefighter in 1992. He has had a challenging but rewarding 30-year career as a firefighter. Martin is the recipient of the 20-year Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal and the 25-year Ontario Fire Services Long Service Medal.

Public washrooms at Town Hall temporarily closed

Please note that Town Hall public washrooms will be closed from Monday, August 8 to Friday, August 12 as crews complete repointing work on the building.

Municipal services will still be accessible through the lower-level Church Street entrance.

Queen Street West lane closure (August 8 - 12)
