Public washrooms at three local parks to be closed at 5:00 p.m. daily

Starting this week, the public washrooms at Cadzow Park, the St. Marys Lawn Bowling Club and Kin Pavilion will be closed between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. daily.

The Town of St. Marys is making the move in response to a recent rash of vandalism. The washrooms at Cadzow Park, for example, have been vandalized every weekend since opening on May 20, 2022.

Accessible port-a-potties will be added to each location to ensure that washroom facilities are available for park users.

Please note the following hours will be in effect for Town of St. Marys facilities for Canada Day (Friday, July 1, 2022).

Closed Friday, July 1:
  • Administrative offices (Town Hall and Municipal Operations Centre)
  • Adult Learning
  • Child Care Centre
  • Town of St. Marys EarlyON Centre
  • Fire Station
  • The Landfill will be closed on July 1, but open on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Firefighter Greg St. Clair named Firefighter of the Month for June

This June the St. Marys Fire Department is honoring Firefighter Greg St. Clair as Firefighter of the Month.

St. Clair is a career firefighter with the City of Cambridge and has spent almost 10 years with the Baden Fire Station of the Wilmot Township Fire Department, moving up to the rank of Lieutenant. He joined the St. Marys Fire Department in 2021.

St. Clair was born and raised in Stratford. He moved to St. Marys in 2020.

Guided heritage kayak tours offer a new perspective on St. Marys’ history

The St. Marys Museum is taking its heritage walking tours to the water this summer.

In partnership with the Yak Shack, Museum staff will lead guided heritage kayak tours at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, and Friday, June 24. If the program proves popular, the Museum hopes to continue it into the summer.

Pride flag and banner program to build inclusivity in June and beyond

The Town of St. Marys will raise and display the rainbow Pride flag throughout the month of June, starting with a ceremony on Wednesday, June 1.
