Town of St. Marys Council will be holding special meetings on the following dates to review the Draft 2018 Municipal Budget.

Residents invited to Wellington Street Bridge ribbon cutting ceremony

Time capsule to be buried; portion of Wellington Street to be closed

The Wellington Street Bridge reopened to traffic last week, but the bridge will officially go down in history this Saturday, December 9.

A formal re-opening ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. on the new bridge. It will include a ribbon cutting by Mayor Al Strathdee and a brief presentation on the history of Wellington Street bridges by local historian Mary Smith.

On Monday, November 27, 2017, the Town of St. Marys learned that the St. Marys Journal Argus newspaper was closing, effective immediately. The Town was extremely saddened at the loss of a trusted local news source, an upstanding community partner and an institution that has been part of the fabric of St. Marys for over 160 years.

Capsule to be buried at ceremony on December 9 

A signed sesquicentennial flag; an award-winning butter tart recipe; a hand written letter from the mayor. These are just some of the items that will go down in St. Marys history as part of a Canada 150 time capsule project.

The project began back in October, when residents were asked to make suggestions for items to be included in the capsule. Last week, a committee of citizens, Council and Town staff judged the submissions based on size, preservability...

The festive season continues in St. Marys

After a fantastic start to the festive season, the Town of St. Marys will continue to celebrate with a variety of December activities for the whole family.

The St. Marys Museum Annual Christmas Open House will take place Sunday, December 3. This free event will feature music, festive treats, children's crafts, a silent auction, and the grand opening of the Catalogue Christmas exhibit. The River Road Run has also sponsored skating at the Pyramid Centre on the same day from 2:45 to 3:35 p.m.
