World events shape local traditions come July 1

This Canada Day, St. Marysites are asked to look to the past and the present to commemorate our country’s origins.

It’s the second “COVID Canada Day” for our nation, and as such, a mix of live and virtual events will comprise the day. Please note this schedule is subject to public health guidelines on social gatherings and will be updated as July 1 draws near.

Effective June 11, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., the Town of St. Marys will be operating under Step One of Roadmap to Reopen. The following outlines changes and public health measures for Town services and programs.

Municipal Operations Centre and Town Hall

Residents may notice a few new friendly faces around St. Marys this summer. Two new Park Patrollers, employed by Stratford Police Service, have commenced their summer employment in St. Marys.

Gracie Dafoe and Marcel Lundrigan, are eager to get to know the residents of the town and help educate and enforce a number of by-laws including but not limited to traffic & parking, permitted uses at the Quarries, smoking and vaping, animal control and open-air burning.

A long list of firefighters have earned the Fire Service Exemplary Medals and Fire Services Long Service Medals for a combined more than 220 years volunteering for the St. Marys Fire Department.
