Disruption

The St. Marys Service Ontario office will be closed Thursday, September 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. due to staff illness. It will re-open for regular hours on Friday, September 29, 2023.

Patrons can access a range of services online during the closure (www.serviceontario.ca). These services are easy to use and available 24/7.

Disruption to pedestrian crosswalk signals at Church Street South and Queen Street East intersection

Please note that the pedestrian crosswalk signals at Church Street South and Queen Street East intersection are currently not operating. Crews will be on site to repair the crosswalk signals as soon as possible.

Remember to drive safely and keep an eye out for pedestrians.

Section of Grand Trunk Trail to be closed for upgrades

The Grand Trunk Trail will be closed from James St. N to the sidewalk on Trailside Ct. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. due to work related to trail lighting upgrades.

The remainder of the Grand Trunk Trail will be open to the public.

Education and understanding remain focus for events

The Town of St. Marys will commemorate National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with a week of activities focused on healing and education.

Beginning on September 25, the St. Marys Museum will host an exhibit titled ‘Talking About Treaty 29’. The exhibit examines the creation of Treaty 29, also known as the Huron Tract Purchase of 1827. Train station closed for evening hours September 12 and 13

The St. Marys train station will be closed for evening hours (7:00 to 9:00 p.m.) on Tuesday, September 12 and Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

There will be no in-person ticket sales available during the closures. Tickets for VIA Rail service can be purchased online (www.viarail.ca) or by phone (1-888-VIA-RAIL); tickets for GO Train service can be purchased online (www.gotransit.com).
