Residents invited to have Coffee with Council on November 4

Event planned for 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Flour Mill

The Town of St. Marys is trying to brew up some buzz around its budget.

On Saturday, November 4, 2023, the Town is hosting Coffee with Council at The Flour Mill, located at 6 Water St. S. This informal, drop-in event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is open to all residents and ratepayers.

Town aiming to improve safety of Church St. S and Jones St. E intersection

Changes are underway at the intersection of Church St. S and Jones St. E in St. Marys.

Starting this week, the Town will be taking several measures to improve safety at the corner, which has been the site of several collisions in recent years.

Council directed staff to review the intersection after hearing concerns from several residents. The review found that most accidents happen when an eastbound driver enters the intersection incorrectly. Drivers often enter the intersection incorrectly...

Sections of Grand Trunk Trail closed for paving

The following sections of the Grand Trunk Trail will be closed for paving (weather dependent):

Tuesday, October 24, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., trail closed from James Street North to Glass Street
Wednesday, October 25, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., trail closed from James Street North to Wellington Street North

The remainder of the Grand Trunk Trail will remain open to the public.

Section of Water Street North closed for paving

GO Train service no longer available due to end of pilot project

A pilot project that brought GO train service to St. Marys came to an end this past Friday, October 13, 2023.

The project was launched in 2021 and provided weekday GO train service between London and Toronto, with stops in St. Marys, Stratford, and other locations. The project was operating on a two-year trial basis and has been discontinued by Metrolinx, GO’s parent company.
