The St. Marys Service Ontario office will be closed Thursday, August 24 to Friday, August 25, 2023. It will re-open for regular hours on Monday, August 28, 2023.

A section of James Street South will be closed on Sunday, August 20, 2023, from 12:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. from the D.C.V.I high school entrance to Elizabeth Street and travelling on Elizabeth to East Ward Park entrance for the Teddy Bear Reunion Parade.

Last week, the St. Marys Fire Department conducted low angle rope rescue training off a steep embankment in an old quarry.
Low angle rescues are performed when a slope is too steep for rescuers to safely carry someone without the use of ropes and other equipment. The training scenario imagined that a man had sustained a head injury when he tumbled down the embankment along the quarry.
