Our Building Department is happy to help you with your building needs including issuing of building permits, providing inspections for renovations and new construction, accepting and reviewing zoning applications and so on.
The Town of St. Marys is enrolled in the Ontario One Call system.
Whether you’re building a fence, putting in a pool, or planting a tree or garden, you need to contact Ontario One Call at least 5 days before you dig. Ontario One Call will notify underground infrastructure owners that you plan to dig; locators from each underground infrastructure owner will then come to your property to locate buried lines and cables. You can then dig safely by respecting the locator marks and following the instructions provided.
You can request locates online through Ontario One Call's website. You can also contact the Town for more information at locates@town.stmarys.on.ca.
Building information specific to doing business in St. Marys can be found under Applications, Licenses and Permits as well as Planning and Development.
Fully accessible versions of all above documents are available in print upon request.
The Pyramid Recreation Centre pool is undergoing significant upgrades. The Aquatics Centre has been closed to the public since November 11, 2024, to accommodate renovations to the space. The project involves installing a new HVAC unit and exhaust systems to improve air quality. Repairs are also being made to any parts of the Aquatics Centre that have experienced wear and tear.
Due to unexpected construction delays and supply chain issues, the renovation work is now expected to extend the closure until July 2025.
