The Town of St. Marys is committed to enriching the quality of life for persons with disabilities. The Town recognizes that it is a long-term process, and knows that community collaboration is vital for moving towards full accessibility for person with a disability. The Town strives to remove existing barriers that limit inclusion while sustaining a community where residents are proud to be a member.
The St.Marys Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) recommends and advises Town Council on matters to improve opportunities for persons with disabilities and to provide for involvement in the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to full participation in the community.
The AAC will advise and may assist the Municipality in promoting and facilitating a barrier-free Municipality for citizens of all abilities including persons with disabilities. The AAC may promote accessibility within the community to increase education and awareness.

The Accessibility Advisory Committee would appreciate feedback from the community to ensure that barriers are identified and a plan is put in place to remove those barriers. The Town of St. Marys is responsible for filing a bi-annual Accessibility Compliance Report with the Government of Ontario. The 2019 Compliance Report is available online or by contacting the Clerk’s Department at clerksoffice@town.stmarys.on.ca.
