The Town of St. Marys is drafting an Active Transportation Master Plan to guide how we develop and improve our local trail network over the next 10 years.
We recently ran an online survey to learn about how you use our trail system and the types of upgrades that would enhance your experience. The feedback gathered through the survey will be used to develop the Master Plan.

Asset Management is the process of collecting a variety of data and information regarding the Town's assets and infrastructure, and using all of that data and information to make the best long term decisions in regards to building, operating, maintaining, renewing, replacing, and disposing of those assets.
The Town's comprehensive Asset Management Plan (AMP) was last updated in 2024.

This comparative study identifies key quantifiable indicators and selective environmental factors that should be considered as part of a comprehensive evaluation of a local municipality's financial condition. In 2015, 104 Ontario municipalities (including the Town of St. Marys) participated.

The municipalities of St. Marys, Stratford, North Perth, West Perth, Perth East and Perth South have collectively developed a Community Safety and Well-Being Plan and Implementation Plan. These documents:
Provide a roadmap for inclusive, connected, and coordinated safety and well-being planning
Ensure a proactive and integrated approach to addressing local crime and complex social issues on a sustainable basis
Identify key priorities for safety and well-being planning locally
Support and strengthen existing initiatives related to community safety and well-being
Address local service and systems gaps

The Town of St. Marys is developing a Forestry Management Plan that will help maintain, enhance and protect the public trees in the its urban forest. The plan will bring the Town into compliance with the Modernizing Ontario’s Municipal Legislation Act, 2017 and further the goals of the Town’s Strategic Plan Revision and Update.

The Town of St. Marys is undergoing an Information Systems Strategic Plan Project to modernize and find efficiencies in its current software applications and software processes. Pecunia House Consulting was engaged to conduct a high-level current state needs analysis of the Town’s software and provide recommendations for improvements.
The Official Plan sets out the objectives and policies of the Town of St. Marys with regards to planning and development.
In 2019/2020, the auditing firm KPMG was engaged by the Town to undertake an organizational review of the municipality. The overall goal of the project was to review the whole organization of the Town and identify an organizational structure that best positions the Town for sustainable and responsive municipal service delivery that can be achieved without impacting front line services. The review also identified service improvement opportunities through a review of key internal processes. KPMG prepared and delivered a final report on the project in October 2020.
The Town of St. Marys/Perth South Perth4Youth Community Engagement Strategic Plan (2017-2020) is a three-year plan that identifies the issues and opportunities facing local youth and makes recommendations for attracting, retaining and engaging youth in the community.
The Pyramid Recreation Centre (PRC) Strategic Business Plan was developed by a core team of PRC employees. It includes a new mission statement and set of values for the PRC, a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis as well as strategies and tactics to address strategic issues facing the facility.
The Recreation, Culture and Leisure Services Master Plan provides insight on community needs and effective ways to provide quality parks and recreation facilities, programs and services.
The Town of St. Marys is developing a Signage and Wayfinding Strategy to help attract and orient new residents and visitors and to highlight its key attractions and amenities. The strategy will further the goals of the Town’s Strategic Plan Revision and Update and Recreation and Leisure Services Master Plan.

The Pyramid Recreation Centre pool is undergoing significant upgrades. The Aquatics Centre has been closed to the public since November 11, 2024, to accommodate renovations to the space. The project involves installing a new HVAC unit and exhaust systems to improve air quality. Repairs are also being made to any parts of the Aquatics Centre that have experienced wear and tear.
Due to unexpected construction delays and supply chain issues, the renovation work is now expected to extend the closure until July 2025.
