The Stonetown offers many ways to make spirits bright
Comfort and joy abound in St. Marys this weekend, as multiple events usher in a different yet festive holiday season.
The Downtown St. Marys Merchants Open House weekend begins when shops and services open for the day on Friday, November 20. This year’s open house continues to Sunday so shoppers can have more space. Look for no-tax savings, Mr. & Mrs. Claus and on Sunday, an outdoors farmers’ market at Town Hall! Follow @stmaryschristmasevents on Facebook or Instagram for all the details.
Also on Friday, the fabulous WinterLights at Milt Dunnell Field will illuminate for the season live at 7:00 p.m. on the Town of St. Marys Facebook page. The display will then be lit nightly at dusk (approximately 5:00 p.m.) until 11:00 p.m. until Sunday, January 3, 2021. Donations to the display are gratefully appreciated at the donor wall or at Waving Santa.
On Saturday, November 21, the Kinsmen Club of St. Marys’ “Shunpiker Santa Parade” takes over town from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The map will be available on Saturday morning: download and print it from www.townofstmarys.com/parade to plan your route! Hard copies will be available at the St. Marys Public Library, The Flower Shop and More, Jackson’s Pharmacy, Zenfire Pottery, Little Falls Crafters Market, Tropical Flavour, Canadian Tire and the Town and Country Cheese Shoppe.
Some of this year’s parade highlights include live music from local bluegrass favourites Corduroy Gordon and the London All Stars Steel Drum Band in the downtown core, and of course, Santa at Milt Dunnell Field! The St. Marys Youth Council is holding a food drive at its parade; please bring non-perishable goods for those in need.
Unable to make it out to the parade? The Front Porch Show will broadcast a live parade special via Facebook, with lots of interviews and on-location features. You can watch the special via The Front Porch Show or Town of St. Marys Facebook pages; no account is required.
