Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s drive-through pork chop dinner, the Town of St. Marys Fire Department is hosting it again on October 23, in partnership with Joe’s Diner and Broken Rail Brewing.
Each year, the firefighters volunteer their time to serve dinner for the community in order to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy, local sports and other charities. Due to the ongoing pandemic this year will once again be a drive-through dinner at Joe's Diner.
Joe’s Diner will be preparing a feast including smoked pork chops, baked potato, coleslaw, home-made baked beans and a bun. New this year, each meal will be served with one can of locally brewed craft beer from Broken Rail Brewing!
“We’re looking forward to serving up another great meal to raise much needed funds for some very deserving charities,” Fire Chief Richard “Andy” Anderson says. “The Fire Department appreciates everyone’s support as we raise money for a great cause.”
This year’s dinner will be served on Saturday, October 23 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Joe’s Diner St. Marys (with the entrance at the rear parking lot of Action Medical). The cost is $25 per dinner and tickets can be purchased in advance from any firefighter, at the St. Marys Fire Hall, Joe’s Diner or Broken Rail Brewing. The deadline to purchase tickets is October 15, 2021.
“Last year was such a success with 600 tickets being sold, despite having to change it from a dine-in meal to a drive-through.” Says Fire Chief Richard “Andy” Anderson. “This year we anticipate tickets to sell out even quicker so don’t hesitate to get yours today.”
