Saturday, October 28 is shaping up to be scary good in St. Marys as our community celebrates Halloween with activities for all ages!
The fun begins at 8:00 a.m. at the St. Marys Farmers’ Market located at the north end of Milt Dunnell Field. Stop by the red pick-up truck for a photo opportunity with family or in your Halloween costume! The market will be collecting donations to the St. Marys’ Salvation Army Food Bank.
The St. Marys Museum is hosting two Cemetery Walking Tours at the St. Marys Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Attendees can expect a brief history of St. Marys cemeteries, a walk through the cemetery highlighting unique and significant graves, and a tutorial on how to research your own ancestors using cemetery resources. The cost of the tour is $10 per person; pre-registration is required by contacting the museum at 519-284-3556.
Four-legged friends are invited to take part in the Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade and Costume Contest. Those wishing to participate are asked to review the guidelines online and arrive outside Town Hall at 10:30 a.m. Participants and pets will walk down the sidewalk to Water Street and back up to Town Hall for treat bags and pet costume prizes, sponsored by Pet Valu St. Marys. There will also be a professional photo opportunity for pets, sponsored by Kristine Tanner, Peak Select Realty Inc. Brokerage.
Dress up the whole family and trick-or-treat at downtown businesses! Show off your costumes to merchants who will be handing out candy from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Look for the Halloween decal in the window of participating downtown businesses.
Those who prefer to laugh through spooky season can get their tickets to St. Marys Community Players’ matinee performance of ‘Opening Night’, a comedy by Norm Foster. The 2:00 p.m. show takes place at the Town Hall Auditorium.
