Programs and services to run as usual; patrons encouraged to use online catalogue

The St. Marys Public Library will soon be on the move. Starting on Monday, August 27, 2018, library services will be temporarily relocated to the End Zone on the second floor of the Pyramid Recreation Centre. The move is being made to accommodate a carpet and paint renovation that is taking place in the library building.

The work on the library is expected to be complete by the end of September. During this time, all library programs and services will be offered from the End Zone, which will be open for regular library hours. Public computer stations, printing and free wireless internet will all be available at the temporary location.

A limited selection of books, DVDs and audiobooks will also be available at the End Zone; however, library users are encouraged to use the online catalogue to order specific items.

“This is the perfect time to become familiar with our online catalog, which allows patrons to browse and place holds on the physical and digital titles that are available across all the Perth County libraries,” said St. Marys Public Library CEO, Matthew Corbett. “Our knowledgeable staff will guide you through the process of creating an account to ensure you can access this extensive collection during and after the move.”

There will be some minor service disruptions in place prior to the relocation. The library will be open on Friday, August 24, but there will be no public access computers or reading room chairs available. The library will be closed on Saturday, August 25 to allow staff time to prepare for the move to their temporary home. Details about when the library will return to regular operations will be shared as they become available.
