Earlier this year, the municipalities of St. Marys, Stratford, North Perth, West Perth, Perth East, and Perth South unveiled a joint Community Safety and Well-being (CSWB) Plan which provides a roadmap for coordinating local safety and well-being planning. Recognizing that complex social issues cannot be addressed by one sector or organization alone, the implementation of the Plan is guided by a Partnership Council with members from the six municipalities. The Partnership Council will also include representatives from a broad range of sectors (e.g. police, social services, health, mental health, and addictions services, education, children and youth services, etc.).
A website has been developed to share information about the CSWB Plan and its implementation activities. By visiting the site, people can learn about; how the Plan was developed, key local safety and well-being priorities, and ongoing implementation activities. The CSWB Plan and the CSWB Implementation Plan are also available for download.
“We are excited to have a centralized place for all matters related to community safety and well-being,” says Kim McElroy, co-chair of the CSWB Partnership Council. “We encourage residents to visit the site for information about what we are trying to accomplish.”
To visit the website, go to www.cswb-stratfordperthstmarys.com. Website visitors can join a mailing list to stay updated on current activities.

The Pyramid Recreation Centre pool is undergoing significant upgrades. The Aquatics Centre has been closed to the public since November 11, 2024, to accommodate renovations to the space. The project involves installing a new HVAC unit and exhaust systems to improve air quality. Repairs are also being made to any parts of the Aquatics Centre that have experienced wear and tear.
Due to unexpected construction delays and supply chain issues, the renovation work is now expected to extend the closure until July 2025.
