Residents may notice a few new friendly faces around St. Marys this summer. Two new Park Patrollers, employed by Stratford Police Service, have commenced their summer employment in St. Marys.

Gracie Dafoe and Marcel Lundrigan, are eager to get to know the residents of the town and help educate and enforce a number of by-laws including but not limited to traffic & parking, permitted uses at the Quarries, smoking and vaping, animal control and open-air burning.

“I am excited to connect with the residents of St. Marys.” Says Gracie Dafoe, “I have grown up in St. Marys and know that residents appreciate seeing a police presence. Both Marcel and I love helping people. We encourage residents to stop and say ‘hello’ when they see us.”

Lungrigan adds, “We’re not just here to enforce by-laws, but to educate residents so everyone can enjoy St. Marys to the fullest. If you see us around town and are curious about anything, please do not hesitate to approach us and engage with us."

The Park Patrollers have been appointed as municipal law enforcement officers and have the authority to issue by-law infraction notices when someone is found to be in contravention to the by-law. They will be assisting the Stratford Police Services in monitoring areas such as parks, trails, the quarries, and the downtown core.
