Online registration for swimming lessons will be available beginning June 17

Town of St. Marys swimming lesson mass registration is about to get an upgrade. On June 17, residents will be able to skip the line-ups and sign-up online for swimming lessons using their credit cards.

Town staff viewed the summer swimming lesson mass registration event, still being held at the Pyramid Recreation Centre on Saturday, June 17 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., as the perfect opportunity to “soft launch” the new online registration service.

“We’ve been gradually phasing-in our new system over the past few months, first with online schedules for the rooms, ice and diamonds, and now with swimming lesson registration,” said Aquatics and Guest Services Supervisor, Andrea Slade, “The platform is based on the same secure software we’ve used for years for in-person bookings – We’ll still have the same great in-person service, but now our customers will have the option of easily signing themselves up using their home computers, tablets and mobile devices.”

Swimming lessons are only the beginning, with select child, youth and adult recreation programs estimated to be available for online registration in the fall. Memberships, Friendship Centre programs as well as subsidized and discounted transactions will still be handled in-person only at Pyramid Recreation Centre Guest Services or the Friendship Centre front desk.
