Registration for aquatics programs starts October 26

Aquatics Centre to re-open November 2

Swimmers will soon be able to dive back in to aquatics programs at the Pyramid Recreation Centre. Registration starts on Monday, October 26 for a slate of activities, including aquafit, lane swims and family swims. Programs will get underway when the pool opens on Monday, November 2.

Advance registration is required for all programs due to capacity limits and contact tracing requirements. Registration will be available online (www.townofstmarys.com/registeronline) or by phone (519-284-2160) starting at 12:01 a.m. on October 26. Patrons will be able to register for programs one week in advance; spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

“We’re offering a lighter schedule of programming with limited numbers to ensure the safety of our participants and staff,” said Andrea Slade, Aquatics Supervisor. “We’re thrilled to welcome swimmers back to the pool and encourage them to register early to secure their space in our programs.”

Patrons will be able to pay for programs using a credit card or existing PRC pass; however, the Town will not be issuing any new passes at this time. YMCA memberships will not be accepted due to advance registration requirements.

Registrants should plan to arrive at the PRC 10 minutes before their program begins. Staff will meet them at the entrance to the Aquatics Centre (Entrance A) and help them check in to their program and complete a COVID-19 screening form. Participants will need to wear a face covering or mask once they enter the building.

Participants are encouraged to arrive wearing their bathing suits, but change rooms, showers and lockers will be available for use. Swimmers will have 10 minutes to change following their programs to allow staff time to clean and manage the flow of traffic between activities.
