The Town of St. Marys Recreation and Leisure Program Guide for spring and summer 2018 is now available at most municipal facilities and www.townofstmarys.com/townguide. The guide features programs for all ages run by Town staff. It also includes contact details for local activity groups and service clubs that submitted their information earlier this year.
Pool programs are plentiful this year, with new times added for Aquafit at the Aquatics Centre and water running at the Quarry. Children and youth aged eight to 15 can join the Quarry Junior Lifeguard Club in July, where they will learn invaluable life-saving skills. Throughout July and August drop-in swimming lessons will be available at both the Aquatics Centre (Sea Otter to Level 4) and Quarry (Levels 5 to 10) during select times - no pre-registration required.
Camp PRC, featuring laser-tag, swimming and more, will offer full days of fun for children in Grades 2 to 6. Parents can also register their children in kindergarten to Grade 2 for licensed school age care at Holy Name of Mary Catholic School.
Older adults won’t want to miss the Friendship Centre’s many social, fitness and wellness programs. The Centre is preparing for another Scrapbooking Garage Sale on April 7. Its Travel Club will be visiting a number of exciting destinations, including Ripley’s Aquarium, Walters Dinner Theatre and a Blue Jays game. As in previous years, staying active and healthy is easy with a range of low impact group exercise, yoga and free falls prevention fitness programs available.
