Limited hours but many services available Tuesday, August 4

After almost five months of closed doors, the St. Marys Public Library is pleased to announce that it will reopen on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

“We are really looking forward to seeing our regular patrons and to welcoming new ones,” says St. Marys Public Library CEO Sarah Andrews. “We’re eager to help you find something to read or watch for August, use our computers, or grab some books for your children and grandchildren. Welcome back!”

The public will be able to pick up holds, ask to borrow materials, use computers and printing services, and interact with staff on Mondays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Patrons will be asked to sign in at the Service Desk upon arrival as per contact tracing requirements. Hand sanitizer will be provided at both entrances, and patrons are asked to wear masks while in the library as per Huron Perth Public Health instructions. No more than 50 patrons will be allowed in the building at one time, in accordance with provincial orders.

Patrons with concerns about visiting the library in person can arrange a true “curbside pickup” by calling the library during its business hours to arrange which materials they would like. A staff member will bring the items to the patron’s parking space on Queen Street at the appointed time.

Virtual programs will increase, with the addition of Summer Reading programs by the Library’s Summer Student. Be sure to follow the St. Marys Public Library on Facebook to stay in the know!
