St. Marys YMCA and Town aquatics facilities partnership extended until June 30

Trial partnership part of Recreation and Leisure Services Master Plan implementation

The Town of St. Marys and Stratford-Perth Family YMCA partnership promotion initially offered in April and May has been extended until June 30, 2018.

YMCA members will simply need to show their membership cards to get free access to both the Aquatics Centre and St. Marys Quarry (the Quarry opens for its pre-season weekend hours on June 16).   

Swim pass holders who want to visit the YMCA can pick up a special card at Pyramid Recreation Centre Guest Services. This card will allow them full access to the St. Marys YMCA now until June 30, 2018. All three types of swim pass holders (15, 30 and 60 visits) are eligible to benefit from the promotion.

This partnership between the Town and Stratford-Perth Family YMCA arose due to recommendations made in the municipality’s Recreation and Leisure Services Master Plan. The Town plans to continue to track the number of users who take advantage of the temporary dual access opportunity.

“A collaboration with the Town of St. Marys has been something both parties have wanted to try for some time, so we are thrilled to offer residents the opportunity to participate at both facilities” says Stratford-Perth Family YMCA Manager, Jay Colquhoun.

Town of St. Marys Aquatics Supervisor Andrea Slade echoes the sentiment, “We’re excited to partner with the Stratford-Perth Family YMCA and find out what residents think of this promotion. Varying your activities is a great way to stay motivated and healthy when trying to achieve fitness goals.”

Pyramid Recreation Centre Aquatics Centre
The Aquatics Centre features an indoor saltwater pool with attached leisure pool, on-deck sauna and spa. The lane pool has a four-lane, 25-metre swimming area as well as shallow and deep ends. The leisure pool has wide teaching steps, perfect for new swimmers. There is ramp access into both pools and an accessible lift for the lane pool. St. Marys Quarry
The St. Marys Quarry is Canada's largest outdoor freshwater swimming pool. Enjoy beach volleyball, cliff jumping (subject to water levels), a water trampoline, Tiki Hut snacks, two rafts, a slide and stand up paddleboarding. For more details visit www.townofstmarys.com/quarry.
