Town Hall to be closed starting November 13 for renovations

St. Marys Town Hall is getting a makeover. The iconic limestone building will be closed to the public as of November 13, 2023, to accommodate renovations to its first floor.

The work will include a full remodel of the space. Council Chambers will be expanded and the technology in the room will be upgraded. New washroom facilities will be added, including one that is barrier free.

Services usually offered at Town Hall will be provided online, by phone or at other municipal facilities during the closure, as noted below.

  • General inquiries: Call 519-284-2340, email clerksoffice@town.stmarys.on.ca, or visit the Municipal Operations Centre (408 James St. S) during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
  • Police: Call 519-271-4141 for non-emergencies; call 9-1-1 for emergencies
  • Community Outreach Worker: Call 519-284-2340 or visit the St. Marys Public Library from Monday to Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (ring the library's doorbell between 8:30 and 10:30 am for assistance)
  • Mayor: Email astrathdee@town.stmarys.on.ca 
  • Licensing, by-law enforcement and Council correspondence: Call 519-284-2340, email clerksoffice@town.stmarys.on.ca, or use the drop box located at the library's Queen St. entrance
  • PC Connect inquiries: Call the Community Transportation Call Centre at 1-888-465-0783
  • Tourism inquiries: Call 519-284-2340, ext. 272, email kdeeks@town.stmarys.on.ca, or visit the St. Marys Public Library, St. Marys Museum or downtown businesses for tourism materials

Work on Town Hall is expected to be complete by May 2024. Updates about the project will be provided through local media, the Town website (www.townofstmarys.com), Facebook (www.facebook.com/stmarysontario) and Twitter/X (www.twitter.com/townofstmarys).
