Town of St. Marys approved to provide emergency child care

On January 7, the Province of Ontario announced that the emergency child care provided to support essential workers with care for their school aged children would be extended to January 22, 2021.

The Town of St. Marys is pleased to now be offering emergency child care services starting on Monday, January 11, 2021. This emergency child care program will be provided at no cost to eligible parents. St Marys Child Care Centre will be providing care from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for eligible school aged children.


Applications for St. Marys Child Care Centre emergency child care are made through the City of Stratford. Registrations will begin with screening for eligibility by calling City of Stratford Early Years Coordinator at 519- 271-3773 extension 404.

Spaces will be limited and offered based on the date of submitted applications. Families who are eligible will then be contacted by their respective child care program to complete the registration process.

The Huron Perth Public Health and Ontario’s Ministry of Education has been consulted to ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place to ensure the safety of all staff, parents, and children.
