Town pursues alternative options for Yard Waste collection

Residents may have noticed Yard Waste collection dates missing in the most recent Bluewater Recycling Association (BRA) Waste and Recycling calendar.

The dates were not included because the Town has chosen to pursue alternative options for the yard waste pick-up. This decision was made in an effort to improve the service, and based on resident feedback about the frequency and timing of past collections.

On February 8, the Public Works department posted a request for quotation for Yard Waste collection services on the Town website. The request for quotation includes two options for Yard Waste collection; both options increase the frequency of collection and request that the service occur on Mondays from mid-May to late-November (with the exception of Victoria Day, when the collection would occur on Tuesday).

The request for quotation closes on February 22. The Town expects to communicate the new Yard Waste collection dates to the public by April.
