The Town of St. Marys is sharing reopening details for municipal facilities that were closed under Step Two of the Province of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen. The Province announced last week that it will begin to ease public health measures on January 31, 2022.

Once open, all facilities will be operating at 50% capacity to align with provincial regulations. Visitors will have to screen for COVID-19 before entering any municipal building; masks and social distancing will continue to be required.

Pyramid Recreation Centre

The following facilities located in the Pyramid Recreation Centre (PRC) will reopen on January 31, 2022:

  • Aquatics Centre
  • Ice pads
  • Friendship Centre (gradual opening, with some virtual programming in place)
  • Youth Centre

Anyone 12 and over who plans to visit the PRC must be fully vaccinated (had two doses, at least 14 days prior). Visitors will be required to have the QR code on their enhanced COVID-19 vaccine certificate scanned before entering any part of the building. The enhanced certificate can be obtained online (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/get-proof/) or by mail (call 1-833-943-3900). Certificates can be printed and laminated for free at the St. Marys Public Library.

The PRC’s canteen and bar will remain closed until further notice.

EarlyON Centre

In-person EarlyON programming will remain on hold; virtual programming will continue to be offered. Updates about EarlyON programming will be posted on the Town website (townofstmarys.com/earlyon) and the EarlyON Facebook and Instagram accounts (@townofstmarysearlyon).

St. Marys Museum & Archives

The St. Marys Museum will reopen for regular operations on January 31, 2022. The archives will be open by appointment only; appointments can be made by email (museum@town.stmarys.on.ca) or phone (519-284-3556). Proof of vaccination is not required at the museum.

St. Marys Station Gallery

The St. Marys Station Gallery (located inside the St. Marys VIA Rail Station) will reopen on February 1, 2022. Proof of vaccination is required for those visiting the gallery, but not for those using VIA or GO Train services.

Other municipal facilities

All other Town facilities are currently open with safety measures and capacity restrictions in place. Visit townofstmarys.com/covid19 for more information.
