Town shares update on re-opening of select municipal facilities

The Town of St. Marys is providing another update as it continues to re-open select municipal facilities.

Enhanced cleaning practices and COVID-19 protocols have been put in place at all municipal facilities to protect the health and safety of staff and patrons. Those planning a visit to any Town facility are reminded to:

  • Reconsider their visit if they are feeling sick or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19
  • Practice physical distancing by leaving 2 m/6 ft. of space between themselves and others 
  • Wash their hands before and after their visit, and use hand sanitizer during their visit
  • Wear a mask or face covering when inside the facility, as directed by Huron Perth Public Health

St. Marys Public Library

The St. Marys Public Library re-opened on Tuesday, August 4 with new hours of operation. Patrons can now visit the library to pick up holds, ask to borrow materials, use computer and printing services, and interact with staff. The library has also enhanced its curbside pick-up program and virtual program offerings.

Adult Learning Programs of Perth

Adult Learning Programs of Perth re-opened on Tuesday, August 4. Services are currently being offered by appointment only.

St. Marys VIA Rail station

The customer service desk at the VIA Rail station re-opened on Wednesday, August 5 with reduced hours. In-person service is available between 7:45 and 8:45 a.m. and 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. daily. The St. Marys Station Gallery remains closed.

Municipal Operations Centre

The service counter at the Municipal Operations Centre (MOC) re-opened on Wednesday, August 5 with reduced hours. In-person service is currently available from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Those planning to visit the MOC are encouraged to book an appointment in advance by calling 519-284-2340.

St. Marys Museum and Archives

The archives and research services will be available by appointment starting Monday, August 17. Appointments can be booked between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily; only two researchers will be allowed in the archives at one time. Bookings will be taken by phone starting August 17.

Museum staff will also be offering tourism information out of the Museum lobby/gift shop between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. starting August 17. The Museum’s exhibit space will remain closed until further notice.

Pyramid Recreation Centre

The Pyramid Recreation Centre (PRC) is currently closed for all programs and activities, with the exception of health care services (including foot care and blood donor clinics).

Staff are currently working on multiple options to re-open the building that will meet the Province’s 50-patron capacity limits. Updates about the re-opening plans for the PRC will be shared as they become available.
