Reading Buddies

The library offers free one-on-one reading help with the assistance of volunteer reading buddies. These sessions are one-on-one opportunities for reluctant readers of all ages to develop and grow their literacy skills. Volunteer reading buddies work with readers to help build confidence with reading through reading practice and games geared to the level of the reader. 

If you are looking to sign up a reader for the Library's Reading Buddies program, please fill out an application form and a library staff person will call you to confirm details. We will be placing readers with volunteer tutors as spots become available. The reading buddies program will operate with two sessions: October-December 2024 and January-March 2025. Readers can participate in one or both sessions, pending volunteer availability.
